Ok, so I’ve been babysitting these two little girls (7 & 9) from 7AM to about 5PM. I’ve played kpop around them a few times and they asked if it was ‘mexican’ music and I said no, its korean. So, I’ve been meaning to do this with either my little sisters or friends that weren’t into kpop. Today, I “formally” introduced them to kpop. I handed them lined paper while I pulled out my laptop, I told them to number their paper from 1-3 and then to pick any 3 numbers between 1 and 228. Once they did this I asked one of them to give me their # 1 (2 or 3) and i’d go to my kpop playlist and find the number and play the song. Before though, I had them write down the song and group (or artist) and then while they listened to the song, write down what they liked and disliked about it. I have some videos and if they picked a song that I happen to have a video to, i’d play the video. The songs that they ‘picked’ were: This Time is Over - B1A4, B.U.T - TVXQ!, Bonamana - Super Junior, Breath - Xia (Junsu), Strong Baby - Big Bang, and Shake It - Big Bang. Okay, just know that these girls have been raised on country music and some pop music that’s played on the radio and by pop I mean by whats popular now. Anyway, the youngest seemed to enjoy it the most, not a single dislike but the oldest one will be fun to work with, haha. Her dislikes were things like “its pop” “the dance is funny” “sound weird” and the one that had me rolling around was “because some are just wearing just jackets and pants” That statement was said about SJ’s Bonamana haha xD and I knew exactly who she was talking about :p funny thing is, only one guy is “just wearing jackets and pants” Wait until I start teaching them names ;D anyway, can’t wait for tomorrow to see what songs they pick next x]
